Paris Saint-Germain won the 2025 European Super Cup after falling behind by two goals, ultimately defeating Europa League champions Tottenham Hotspur 4-3 on penalties. Afterward, PSG coach Luis Enrique described the victory as a miracle.

In the 39th minute of the game, Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Vicario kicked off, Van der Ven headed the ball, and Palinha's volley in the penalty area was blocked by Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Chevalier. Then Van der Ven made a follow-up shot and scored, helping Tottenham Hotspur to open the scoring with 1-0.

In the 48th minute of the second half, Pedro Porro's free kick found Romero in the box, extending Tottenham's lead to 2-0. In the 85th minute, Vitinha's pass from the top of the penalty area was met by Li Kangren, who fired home a long shot to help Paris Saint-Germain tie the game at 1-2.

In the second half stoppage time, Dembélé crossed from the penalty area and Gonzalo Ramos headed the ball into the goal, helping Paris Saint-Germain equalize the score at 2-2.

With the game tied in regular time, the match went into extra time. Gonzalo Ramos, Dembélé, Lee Kang-in, and Nuno Mendes scored in the penalty shootout, as Paris Saint-Germain defeated Tottenham Hotspur 4-3 at the Friuli Stadium to secure the title.

Paris Saint-Germain coach Luis Enrique said in an interview, "This is really crazy, this is the only adjective I can think of. I am really happy, but I don't think we deserve this victory because there is a big difference between Tottenham Hotspur and us. They have conducted a lot of training, while we have only conducted 5 training sessions. The gap is too obvious."

"It's a miracle and what makes me happy is that we still see the fans supporting the team as usual, even when we were behind 1-0 and then 2-0."
